Higher Thinking Skills Through IT-Based Projects 

            In this Lesson, Higher thinking skills through IT-Based Projects discuss four types of IT-Based Project which can effectively be used in order to engage students in activities of a higher plane of thinking. To be noted is the fact that these project differ in the specific process and skills employed, also in the ultimate activity or platform used to communicate completed products to others. These projects represent constructivist approach to instruction in the teacher creating the learning environment, giving students the tools and facilities, and facilitating learning.

The first IT-Based project is the Resource-based Projects; the teacher is the sources of the learning of the school. They facilitate the learning of the students and they supply the information that needed of the learner. The central principle is to make the students go beyond the textbook and curriculum materials. The students are encouraged to go the library and to the internet. Inquiry-based or discovery approach is given importance in resource-based projects. The process is given importance than the project product.

Simple Creations is the second IT-Based projects, it is more consonant with the planning, making, assembling, designing and building. In developing software, creativity as an outcome should not be equated with inequity or high intelligence. Creativity is combine three kind of skills/ abilities. The analyzing, synthesizing, promoting. These are promoting five key tasks to develop creativity: define the task, brainstorm, judge the ideas, act, and adopt flexibility.

Guided Hypermedia projects are the production of self-made multimedia projects can be approached into different ways. Instructive tools are the production by the students of the power- point presentation of a selective topic. Constructive tools such as the when students do a multimedia presentation with texts, graphs, photos, audio narrations, interviews, video clips, etc.

The Web- Based Projects, students can be made to create and post web pages on a given topic. But in creating new pages even a single web-pages, maybe tool sophisticated and time consuming for the average student.

Traditional generation focused on lecture and hands on given from the subject of THE. Baking some cake, putting icing on top of cake but not in technology. The oral recitation is said the higher thinking skills on that generation. Now because of technology the learning of the students are through the materials facilitated by the teachers. The learning styles of the student are through skills of the students on how they used the technology.

The higher thinking skills through IT based considered an effective teaching learning through the students. They can do whatever they wanted of their project given. But as a teacher we must be the facilitator and not the reason why the students engage the computer and make them irresponsible of their studying. Teachers teach some activities that enhance the ability of the students in their subject given. Today technology is very important for helping us that our work become easier and more reliable.
